Rowe, What Do You Know? is a board game my sister and I created based on asking/answering trivia questions about our family members. The goal of the game is to make it into the center of the spiral on the game board by answering questions about family members ranging in different degrees of difficulty. There are Slow or Go spots along the way that require the player to move forward or backward a certain number of spaces depending on the familial scenario. Whoever wins knows Rowe!
I wanted to play with imperfect illustrations because no family is perfect. I used very geometric shapes for the base of each illustration and then used textured brushes to add in detail and go outside of the lines. The logo is based on chromosomes, which are a part of our genetic material, which is also where I came up with the patterns for the back of the cards. Each question and illustration relate directly to my family and what we value or what might be part of an inside joke. However, it is designed broad enough that others will still enjoy playing it with their own family.
