The Golden Brewer is a hard apple cider company and distiller based in Tulsa, OK. The name comes from the play on words of a popular statue in Tulsa called the Golden Driller. The target market is predominantly women aged 21-35. The brand wants to be recognized as easy-sipping but with an upscale porch drinking vibe.
Art deco has a large presence in Tulsa, so that is the main inspiration for my art direction. Everything from the color palette to the images to the shapes of the label were inspired by research I had done over the style. I incorporated sharp geometry, line work, and ornamental patterns. The fruits are highlighted with metallic gold or silver to emphasize their shapes and catch the viewer’s attention. A top label is used rather than a second side label because it better fits the information without adding extra visual noise and provides a distinct look to the packaging. The labels have a more upscale look but are not over-the-top to still allow for easy porch drinking.
